Jocelyn Casarrubias es una científica social, artista y activista con raíces en el trabajo político y comunitario en México, donde participó en el asesoramiento, diseño, gestión y ejecución de proyectos sociales. Ha integrado enfoques multidisciplinarios para promover la inclusión a lo largo de su carrera, así como herramientas para el desarrollo comunitario.

Actualmente reside en Berlín y forma parte de la red Frauen machen Druck (Las mujeres ejercen presión), dedicada al apoyo mutuo, el intercambio cultural y la creación de espacios creativos que promueven la conexión, el empoderamiento y la sanación a través del arte. Con este grupo ha presentado su trabajo en Berlín, México, Egipto y Brasil.

Con "La Urraca" reivindica la figura del ave que se reconoce a sí misma y canta con libertad sin importarle si complace a los demás. Es un proyecto que busca hacer conciencia de la violencia romántica que se promueve desde gran parte de la música pop en todo el mundo, y transformar el dolor que genera en emancipación.

Su trabajo con mujeres tiende un puente entre sus raíces y la experiencia que ha adquirido en Europa, cultivando espacios inclusivos y afectuosos en los que, especialmente las mujeres procedentes de diferentes contextos, pueden desarrollarse juntas.

Jocelyn Casarrubias ist eine Sozialwissenschaftlerin, Künstlerin und Aktivistin mit Wurzeln in der politischen und kommunalen Arbeit in Mexiko, wo sie an der Beratung, Konzeption, Verwaltung und Durchführung sozialer Projekte beteiligt war. Im Laufe ihrer Karriere hat sie multidisziplinäre Ansätze zur Förderung der Inklusion sowie Instrumente zur Gemeindeentwicklung integriert.

Derzeit lebt sie in Berlin und ist Teil des Netzwerks Frauen machen Druck, das sich der gegenseitigen Unterstützung, dem kulturellen Austausch und der Schaffung kreativer Räume widmet, die Verbindung, Empowerment und Heilung durch Kunst fördern. Mit dieser Gruppe hat sie ihre Arbeit in Berlin, Mexiko, Ägypten und Brasilien präsentiert.

Mit „La Urraca“ greift sie die Figur des Vogels wieder auf, der sich selbst erkennt und frei singt, ohne sich darum zu kümmern, ob es anderen gefällt. Es ist ein Projekt, das darauf abzielt, das Bewusstsein für romantische Gewalt zu schärfen, die von einem Großteil der Popmusik weltweit gefördert wird, und den dadurch verursachten Schmerz in Emanzipation zu verwandeln.

Ihre Arbeit mit Frauen schlägt eine Brücke zwischen ihren Wurzeln und den Erfahrungen, die sie in Europa gesammelt hat, indem sie inklusive und liebevolle Räume schafft, in denen sich insbesondere Frauen aus unterschiedlichen Kontexten gemeinsam entfalten können.

Jocelyn Casarrubias is a social scientist, artist, and activist with roots in political and community work in Mexico, where she participated in the consultation, design, management, and implementation of social projects. She has integrated multidisciplinary approaches to promote inclusion throughout her career, as well as tools for community development.

Currently based in Berlin, she is part of the Frauen machen Druck (Women Make Pressure) network, dedicated to mutual support, cultural exchange, and the creation of spaces that promote connection, empowerment, and healing through art. With this group, she has presented her work in Berlin, Mexico, Egypt, and Brazil.

With “La Urraca,” she reclaims the figure of the bird that recognizes itself and sings freely without caring whether it pleases others. It is a project that seeks to raise awareness of romantic violence promoted by a large part of pop music around the world and transform the pain it causes into emancipation.

Her collaboration with women bridges her roots and the experience she has gained in Europe, cultivating inclusive and caring spaces where women from different backgrounds, can develop together.
